Learning to Live Mindfully: Formal Practice and Daily Life with Radhule Weininger, Ph.D.
In this workshop, we will explore the practice of mindfulness, which Jon Kabat-Zinn describes as, “being aware, on purpose, without judgment, in the present moment.” We will learn about the importance of posture and how to cultivate sensory awareness, attend to breath, and observe the passing by of thoughts, feelings, sounds, and images without getting entangled in them, and how this leads to a sense of inner calm, clarity, and ease. The practice of mindfulness helps us to focus our attention and be more sensitively present to others and our world. It also enables us to come in touch with the subtle state of resting in awareness. Mindfulness practice allows us to live in the present moment with meaning and purpose and with acceptance and caring intent for ourselves and others.
4 Continuing Education credits will be provided for each weekend for psychologists, registered nurses, MFTs and LCSWs.
Cost for the workshop is $70.00
